Gaming Technology Company Comes to Arts District - Furthering Tech Appeal
This week, Phi Gaming Technologies (www.playphigames.com) closed on a 5 year lease at 1001 S Main Street, a 5,000 SF freestanding corner building in the revitalizing Arts District on Main Street. Phi Gaming Technologies is a Series A funded technology development company, involved in software and hardware development for an ecosystem of loyalty programs. After an extensive search around the central and southwest parts of the Las Vegas valley, the Arts District space, along the up and coming Main Street corridor, seemed to be a perfect fit for their goals.
Phi Gaming CEO Diallo Gordon said that the appeal of the Arts District involved the reflection of their company culture, being a tech company in a non-corporate environment, whereas both Gordon and Phi Gaming's COO, Dr. John Hale, came from the prominent casino cash handling company GCA. Further, Gordon mentioned that the Arts District of Downtown Las Vegas provided the perfect location for being close to both sets of clients, being near the "Old Vegas" Fremont Street roster of casinos, as well as their Strip clients. The location allows for them to in-house their engineering, software development, design, marketing and sales teams under one roof, as well as provides space for showcasing their line of hardware kiosks.
The move of yet another tech company to the downtown area, further reinforces the tech appeal of Las Vegas, and cements a highly skilled workforce in place. As time goes on, and the fruits of the new Red Flint incubator, which is a venture of University of Phoenix, as well as the Iron Yard coding school, should help to attract even more tech related companies to the downtown area.
